Matterhorn - the symbol of Switzerland. On the italian side
it is called Monte Cervino.
Everybody knows that Matterhorn looks like a Toblerone. But in reality
it's exactly the opposite: it's Toblerone which imitates the shape of Matterhorn!
Getting ready to reach Breithorn (to be seen on the left).
And here we are! We reached Breithorn 90 minutes later!
Here you can see where we came down from the top of Breithorn,
quite steep.
View from Breithorn (from right to left):
Lyskamm; Signalkuppe; Zumsteinspitze; the needle which is
rocky on the right and snowy on the left side is
Dufourspitze, the highest peak of Monte Rosa;
Nordend. In the foreground in the middle you can see
the Breithornzwillinge (Breithorntwins) and Roccia Nera
on its right.
Castor and Pollox are further on the right outside of this
picture.
Same view as above, but closer.
Impressive and dangerous overhanging snowmass (called "Wächte"
in Swiss German).
Trying to jump over a crevice.
The cablecar brings us down to Zermatt and to the end of this
adventure.
